Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park - Chilliwack
This impressive waterfall is one of the many highlights you’ll find in the Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park. It is in the heart of Chilliwack, British Columbia, providing a sight of fresh water running down the rocks from 60 metres above. The 33 hectares landmark is on the southern part of the Fraser River, 16km east of the city.
The term Veil was employed as the streams of water provide a 'veil effect' or more like a veil outlook over the smooth rocks. Getting to the waterfall is quite fun as there is a short trail from the parking lot, which involves an uphill climb through the forest.
This waterfall, along with the Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park, is in a small area called Rosedale, located east of Chilliwack. Accessing it from Vancouver is also quite interesting. First, move east to Highway #1 while driving and then divert into the eastbound highway. The journey goes through Burnaby, Port Mann Bridge, Surrey, Langley, and then Chilliwack. Mind you, this journey from Vancouver is well over 100km.
The surroundings of this incredible landmark within the Provincial Park come with low elevation areas and smooth rounded mountains, a landscape that makes this location perfect for picnicking, hiking, and sightseeing.
